Four monks from Cambodia have been arrested for illegal entry into Thailand, after police were tipped off by the locals in Krabi that they were involved in fund-raising activities in southern provinces, said Immigration Police chief Lt-General Sompong Chingduang today (November 21).
The four entered monkhood in Cambodia just a week ago, before coming to Thailand without legal documents, police said, adding that they were also seen raising money at protest venues.
They will be sent back to Cambodia, Sompong said.
