The Constitutional Court is scheduled to meet on Thursday afternoon to decide whether it will accept a petition for the dissolution of the Thai Raksa Chart party for alleged hostility to the constitutional monarchy.

The schedule was set after the Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday sought a judgement from the court to disband the party.
Known as an offshoot of Thaksin-backed Pheu Thai Party, Thai Raksa Chart last Friday nominated His Majesty the King's eldest sister Princess Ubolratana as its prime ministerial candidate.
Ubolratana was later disqualified as a candidate by the EC following HM King’s command that she was still a member of the Royal Family and should stay above politics.
