Green turtle’s death off Samui a mystery

The carcass of a 20-kilogram green turtle, a protected species, that washed ashore on Koh Samui on Tuesday evening is being examined to determine the cause of death.

Krit Poolsawat, who works for a rescue foundation, was informed of the find at 6pm and said there were no obvious signs of injury.
The foundation packed the turtle in ice and sent it to a marine and coastal resources research centre in Chumphon for examination.
