Baby girl found in Patong rubbish bin

The child still had her umbilical cord attached.
The baby was believed to have died about two hours prior to being found in a bin at the beginning of Soi Kuan Yang Charoen near Phra Baramee Road.
The body was sent to Patong Hospital for an autopsy.
Aekkasit Sornkhao, 52, was the first to discover the body. 
He said that he was collecting trash from the bin. While going through the contents, he came across the body in a plastic bag and called police.
The police are checking footage from a CCTV camera near the scene and contacting to local hospitals in a search for pre-natal clinical records.
