Quick errand proves fatal for Phetchaburi teen in suspected hit-and-run

A teenaged girl was found dead in a drainage ditch between the lanes of Phetkasem Road in Muang Phetchaburi on Friday morning, the apparent victim of a hit-and-run.

The body of Araya Soomnuch, 16, was discovered at 6.30am.
A doctor attending at the scene suspected she’d been there for eight hours ago. A broken mobile phone was found nearby.
A friend said she Araya had left the house they rented at 6pm to buy phone credit at a convenience store across the road.
The girl was a member of a local dance troupe.
