Woman injured in jump from Bangkok bridge

A woman apparently trying to commit suicide instead ended up severely injured when she jumped from a bridge onto Rama III Road in Bangkok’s Bang Korlaem district on Tuesday morning.

The woman climbed over the bridge’s concrete railing as motorists looked on in horror.
Police tried to coax the woman to safety, but she jumped.
She was taken to Charoen Krung Pracharak Hospital, where she was identified as Sudarat Tannarat, 38.
