The notorious full moon parties on the Pha Ngan island in Surat Thani will be cancelled next month out of respect for the Royal Cremation.

Krirkkrai Songthani, Pha Ngan district chief, said he has instructed all government agencies on the island, the village heads and tambon chiefs to strictly observe the ban on the full moon parties.
He said the ban covered the parties on the first full moon of the month and other celebrations.
“All the half-moon or other parties will also be cancelled throughout the month on the island,” Krirkkrai said.
