About 100 officials from the Interior Ministry and the Justice Ministry raided an entertainment venue in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district early on Saturday and closed two pubs for having customers under age 20.

The 1am raid by some 100 officials against The Ozone place on Soi Chalerm Krung 1 was led by Sahakan Phetnarin, director general of the Juvenile Observation and Protection Department.
The raid followed complaints that pubs in the venue allowed students and other underage drinkers. There are about 10 pubs operating in the area.
Officials blocked the venue entrance to prevent patrons from leaving, but some teenagers were seen climbing the wall to escape.
The officials found that Chic Bar and Climax pub had 15 drinkers under 20 years old and 14 drinkers who carried no identification card.
Sahakan said he had received complaints that the venue was operating near students’ boarding houses and a university. He said most of the patrons are students from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Lat Krabang.
Sahakan said Chic Bar and Climax have been closed for five years under the order of the chief of the National Council for Peace and Order.
