Senior official Chalalai Suksathit said Auditor-General Pisit Leelavachiropas would officially acknowledge the findings and consider whether the investigation should be extended to cover other related issues.
A press conference would be held to let the public know the results of the probe, she said.
Ruangkrai Leekitwattana, of Pheu Thai’s legal team, petitioned the Attorney-General’s office, asking it to extend its investigation to cover the government-to-government deal made by the Royal Thai Navy. He alleged that the company involved used to deal with the army directly without passing the government-to-government procedure.
He also questioned why the long-binding budget for the deal was not disclosed, as with other weapons purchases. The deal could also have breached the charter, he alleged.
