Thai ministries to host forum on trade benefits of China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’

Thai government agencies and the private sector will meet with companies from Hong Kong and Shanghai on Monday to promote their trade and investments as part of China’s “One Belt, One Road” scheme aimed at connecting China and the world.

The economic forum, to be hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Ministry, will be attended by more than 300 delegates from Thailand’s government agencies, including both ministries, the Board of Investment of Thailand, and the Thai and Hong Kong business sectors.
The event will have strategic benefit of Thailand, as a centre of Asean, especially CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam), to encourage trade between Thailand and Hong Kong, and to link investments in Asean with southern China.
The forum will also raise the government’s Thailand 4.0 initiative and the promotion of 10 “S-Curve” industries to be the country’s selling points to attract individual investors into the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area.
The forum will be held tomorrow at the Crystal Hall, Plaza Athenee Bangkok on Wireless Road.
