“It’s strange because they apparently didn’t die of water pollution. We have not seen any other fish dead in the river,” Samut Songkhram’s fisheries chief Uthai Singtothong said yesterday.
He said the provincial governor has convened a meeting of relevant officials to discuss the stingrays deaths.
“We have sent their bodies for examination. We have also checked the quality of the river’s water,” Uthai said, adding that the results would be known soon.
