Thai government offers condolence

Thai government on Tuesday expressed a condolence to the victims and their families of the Orlando shooting, stressing that gun control is necessary to keep society in peace and order.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was referring to to the murders at a gay bar in Orlando, Florida in which 50 people were killed. The suspected shooter; Omar Mateen was also killed by police. Fifty-three people were injured in the attack.
Mateen was found to legally purchase two firearms used in the attacks a couple of weeks before the shooting.

“Are they [the US citizens] and we different? They can buy and carry [guns] around. Can we do that?” he said “If we can so, I assure you that we will have more deaths here than they do,”
The premier also called the incident “great loss” and “should not have ever happened”. He also said to have ordered the Foreign Ministry to issue a statement of condolence regarding the massacre.
