Khon Kaen University’s E-Saan Centre for Business and Economic Research recently conducted an E-Saan Poll, speaking to 2,341 respondents in 20 provinces in the Northeast from August 16 to 27 and December 11 to 20 to gauge the popularity of prominent figures.
It also wants to give People of the Year for E-Saan People awards in 14 categories, including the country’s top administrators.
The poll was open for people to vote in their choices. And for top male administrators, the respondents gave their votes to Prayut, who won the most popular vote with 27.4 per cent. Ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra came second, with a vote of 17.8 per cent, while Abhisit Vejjajiva came third with 5.2 per cent.
For female administrators, Yingluck Shinawatra won the most popular vote with 34.8 per cent in the first poll and 39.4 per cent in the second survey.
Awards were also given to celebrities in other sectors including social services and drama, including TV star Thrisadee “Por” Sahawong, who remains in critical condition in hospital after a severe bout of dengue fever.
