Speaking at a news briefing at the Dusit Thani Hotel today, Chitpas said she had decided not to apply in case her messages would be deemed controversial to society, especially to police officers of all ranks.
Her application could also have caused problems within the police and other segments of society.
Chitpas also explained some of controversial accusations levied against her, for example, her earlier participation in a political rally. She pointed out that the movement was joined by many parties with different viewpoints, adding that she never intended to disparage police officers and was only expressing a desire to see a truly reliable police force working for the people.
She also questioned the legitimacy of a photo that appeared to be showing her trying to break through a police line in front of the police headquarters, saying that it had been doctored.
She added that her interview in English during a PDRC rally shared on social media had been distorted and was not true.
Chitpas insisted that she would continue to work for the people as an assistant to the committee of People’s Democratic Reform Foundation (PDRF) but said she had no plans to enter politics.
Pol General Ekarak Limsangkas, deputy Metropolitan Police spokesman, said that the police have not yet to received any contact from Chitpas regarding the matter. It is also not known of when she would approach the police .
