Yingluck objects to prosecution's new witnesses, documents in rice-scheme case

Former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra's lawyers submitted an official letter of complaint to court yesterday in a bid to oppose against additional witnesses and documents prepared by the prosecutor in the previous government's rice-pledging scheme. Yi

In a press release given to reporters by her lawyer, Yingluck said, “Based on the rule of law, the plaintiff has no right to add witnesses or documents out of the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s submission. This is like taking advantage in the court case and is not fair to me. So, I would like to submit a letter opposing this act and urge the court to reject it.”
The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders will consider the complaint as well as begin examining the witnesses and evidence submitted for the case on August 31.
