With a combination of AI and Global Positioning System (GPS), the notification system can inform passengers about upcoming bus stops. For instance, passengers will be notified that the upcoming stop is Victory Monument, the company’s CEO Kulpornpath Wongmajarapinya said on Thursday.
These buses have also been installed with an advanced driver assistance system and driver status device to notify drivers if their behaviour can trigger accidents.
For instance, she said, the driver will receive a notification to refrain from using a smartphone and be careful of pedestrian crossing, adding that passengers too will be advised to be careful when getting off.
Kulpornpath said other features have been applied to the buses such as an AI-powered fleet management system, security cameras, passenger counter, electronic ticket system, germicidal lamps and mobile digital video recorders.
“The company is also training bus staff to boost efficiency, so the service matches international standards,” she added.
