As of 9.23am, the buying price of a gold bar was Bt26,150 per baht weight and selling price Bt26,350, while gold ornaments cost Bt25,681.04 and Bt26,850, respectively.
The Gold Spot Index price this morning moved to around US$1,723 (Bt55,868) per ounce after the price dropped by $9.8 to $1,735.6 at close on Friday.
Investors were selling gold after the US consumer confidence index remained stable and the Dow Jones Index rose as the market responded to news reports that some US states were ready to ease their lockdown measures.
Also, the market gained positive sentiment after US President Donald Trump signed a $484-billion (Bt15.68 trillion) bill to help small enterprises and hospitals suffering from the Covid-19 impact.
Meanwhile, the price of gold on the Hong Kong market dropped by HK$30 to $15,970 (Bt66,950) per tael.
