GAS FIELDS BIDING SOON
The Mineral Fuels Department of the Energy Ministry is confident of opening biding for the Bongkot and Erawan gas field this year, said director-general Veerasak Pungrassamee yesterday, adding that the plan will be submitted for cabinet approval this month.
According to the Petrolium Act 2017, biding can be called in three ways: concession, production sharing contract, and service contract. However, the cabinet has never approved a biding for product sharing and as such, the department will conduct a term of reference following approval to ascertain the country’s benefit, he said.
Meanwhile, PTT Plc has agreed to buy all nature gas from both fields, he said.
