Tesco Lotus’ Clubcard is said to be the largest retail loyalty programme in Thailand with more than 15 million members. Members collect points when shopping or using other services at Tesco Lotus outlets and redeem points for privileges including discount coupons and points transfers to other partners.
Chakkit Chatupanyachotikul, head of Tesco Online at Lazada, said: “To offer a truly seamless shopping experience for our customers, we have co-developed capabilities to allow Clubcard members to now be able to collect and redeem points when they shop within our store on Lazada’s platform.
“This breaks down the boundary between bricks and mortar stores and e-commerce, allowing customers to take advantage of their shopping wherever it happens.
“We have found that the number of cross-shoppers - who shop both online and offline - continues to rise, thanks to a number of factors that have made online shopping more convenient.”
Chakkit said Clubcard data had allowed the company to “develop highly personalised experiences for individual shoppers” based on their purchase records.
“With the launch of Clubcard on Lazada, we will now be able to extend this privilege to our customers online,” the executive said.
From this week, customers buying products at the Tesco Lotus store on Lazada can link their Lazada accounts with their Clubcard numbers and start earning points immediately.
