The Ascott said the new contracts will boost its presence in the Middle East to more than 2,300 apartment units across 16 properties, which are in nine cities in places like Oman, Qatar, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ascott chief executive Lee Chee Koon said in a statement yesterday: "In addition to these two new properties in Al Khobar, Ascott will open seven more properties over the next three years, in Dubai in UAE, Istanbul in Turkey, Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Muscat and Sohar in Oman."
He said strong demand has been fuelled by growth in domestic and regional business, and leisure travellers.
Ascott plans to have 5,000 serviced residence units in the Middle East by 2020.

Emirates, Malaysia Airlines add 15 destinations
Emirates and Malaysia Airlines added 15 destinations in Malaysia under their codeshare agreement while enhancing their frequent flyer benefits.
Emirates said yesterday the routes comprise of Langkawi, Penang, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau and Labuan.
Emirates executive vice president and chief commercial officer Thierry Antinori said the codeshare with MAS will provide more seamless travel options for their passengers to visit 15 cities in Malaysia and elsewhere in the region with a convenient connection in Kuala Lumpur.
“Reciprocally, travellers from the region will also benefit from an expanded network including 90 destinations spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas,” he said.
Travellers would also be able to earn and redeem miles when flying on any Emirates and MAS-operated flights, he added.
Apart from enjoying the convenience of a single combined ticket for Emirates and MAS-operated flights, passengers would also enjoy seamless travel options, and will be able to receive their tickets – as well as check in their baggage – at point of origin, to their final destination.
Emirates Skywards members and Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich members, members of the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, will be able to accrue and redeem miles on all international and domestic flights operated by both airlines.
On all routes covered in the codeshare, the baggage allowance is 30kg for economy class, 40kg for business class and 50kg for first class.
