Orange Line wins NESDB's approval

The Office of the National Economic Social Development Board (NESDB) has endorsed the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA)'s planned Orange Line.

 
The route will run from Thailand Cultural Center station towards Suvinthavong and Bang Khun Non.
NESDB Secretary General Arkhom Termpittayphaisith said Thailand is in dire need for investment in transportation infrastructure, especially the railway’s system since Thailand’s logistic cost is high when compare to other countries because we largely on roads system.
The 35.4-km train route would cost around Bt190 billion. The first phase worth Bt80-Bt90 billion is slated for completion in December 2018. The second phase worth Bt100 billion will be finished in 2019.
