TLS sold 150 forklifts in the first half and expected annual sale to hit 250. Next year, it targets to sell 400 units.
Watthana Weerasuphakarn, president of the Thai company, sees a large room of opportunity, with demand from the industrial sector as well as expansion in industrial parks as a result of government's promotion in foreign investment.
"TLS Group sets the strategies to focus mainly on foreign investors investing in Thailand including South Korea. The log-term plan is conducted for 3 – 5 years with the expansion to cover all areas in Thailand. There are also the objectives to export some second-hand forklifts to foreign markets and imports products and new technologies to serve the markets in Thailand," Wattana said.
J C Jung, general manager of Hyundai Heavy Industries, said that the company's forklifts are recognised for quality. He also sees growth potential in Thailand as well as other Asian economies.
