GE, IRPC sign contract on service agreement

IRPC Plc has signed a Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) with GE to help ensure a reliable supply of power and steam for IRPC's petroleum and petrochemical plants at an industrial park in Rayong Province.

The 12-year, multi-million CSA covers six GE Frame 6B gas turbines at the combined heat and power (CHP) plant that serves the industrial park, located about 200 kilometers east of Bangkok. The nominal output of the CHP plant is about 220 megawatts of electric power and 400 tons per hour of process steam at the required pressure and temperature levels.
The CSA will be supported by local teams from the GE Keppel service center in Singapore that covers Thailand as well as other countries in the region. GE has a vast 6B gas turbine fleet in the region, and leverages lessons learned from other long-term service agreements on the same fleet across the Asia region.
“This agreement will help ensure high performance for the plant, and gives us the confidence of knowing that we have nearby GE resources that we can depend on to quickly respond to our needs. And to minimize environmental impacts on surrounding communities and our neighbors,” said Atikom Terbsiri, president of IRPC.
