Get ready to game as Lazada Thailand ramps up for 11.11, its Biggest Sale of The Year! The eCommerce platform is elevating the online shopping experience with a gamification approach that will captivate shoppers, enhancing user engagement and retention.

Shoppers can play LazGamesGoGoMatch and Merge Boss—on the Lazada mobile app to win LazCoins which can subsequently be converted into Lazada Vouchers.

79% of Lazada users in Thailand prefer online shopping via smartphone over other devices. 51% of mobile gamers said a fun gameplay experience keeps them interested in continuing to play a game. LazGame players in Thailand spend 3x more time on the Lazada app compared to the platform average.

The innovative gamified shopping journey includes:
1. Games for Shoppers: Lazada has incorporated interactive games that are not only fun but keep players coming back for more. These games are seamlessly integrated into the platform, allowing shoppers to play in between browsing, searching, and purchasing products.
2. Win LazCoins: As users engage with the games, they have the opportunity to win virtual coins, adding an extra layer of excitement and incentive to their shopping journey.
3. Coin Exchange: Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this gamification strategy is the ability to exchange virtual coins for real-world benefits. Users can convert their earned coins into vouchers, allowing them to save money on their 11.11 purchases.
4. Daily Check-Ins and Missions: In addition to playing games, players can also check in daily to collect coins and complete missions to earn even more coins. This offers more ways for shoppers to be rewarded.

 

These mechanics have contributed to an increase in customer stickiness and loyalty, with 80% of LazGame players in Thailand revisiting the app weekly on average. During Lazada’s previous 9.9 campaign, users across the regions spent the equivalent of 310 years on the GoGoMatch game alone, collecting a total of 755 million tokens and playing over 19 million rounds.

In addition to GoGoMatch and Merge Boss which are available across six markets, Lazada Thailand also offers a local game called LazLand. LazLand players plant, water and harvest virtual rice paddy plants. Players that complete farming missions are rewarded with actual rice by Lazada Thailand and can add and check a bag of rice free*. More than 70% of LazLand players revisit the game to take care of their plants. This year, over 200 tonnes of rice was given to users. 

In addition to games, this year’s Biggest Sale of the Year includes innovative app features designed to aid product discovery and facilitate shoppers in their decision-making.

Image Search: Powered by AI technology, Image Search helps users discover new products by making it easier to search for the items they like. Users simply need to take a photo of an item and similar items will be recommended in the search results. The feature is particularly useful for fashion-loving, trendy shoppers as it enables them to easily shop the looks they see and admire while giving them a variety of options to choose from. 92% of Thai shoppers purchased products they found from Lazada's search results1.

Put in My Home: Using augmented reality, this new feature on the LazHome page in the app allows users to “place” furniture and other home and living items in their home by overlaying the product into the user’s real-world environment which is captured by their smartphone camera. This enables them to visualize the product in their space before purchase, which helps with decision-making.

Lazada’s 11.11 Biggest Sale of the Year takes place from November 11 to 13 2023, offering unbeatable deals and promotions that shoppers can take advantage of. Throughout the 3-day sale shoppers can enjoy:

• Pre-sale: Shoppers can unlock the best deals from leading brands on LazMall before the sale begins by paying a 10% deposit from today to November 10, and checking out the remaining amount from November 11 to 13.
