The Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara said on Friday that a tour bus carrying 26 Thai tourists rammed into a roadside sign in Denizli, a city in southwestern part of Turkey. The impact killed two passengers and left 12 others injured while the other 12 were safe.
Among the injured, one is in critical condition, three are still hospitalised and eight will be able to go home soon, said local doctors from Cerrahi and Pamukkale hospitals, where the injured are being treated.
The embassy said it is coordinating with the hospitals and the tour company to notify the latest updates to the relatives of the 26 Thai tourists. It added that Thai nationals living in Denizli also provided assistance to the injured.
The embassy said the mayor of Pamukkale Municipality in Denizli expressed his condolences to the relatives of the Thai tourists, and promised to provide the embassy full cooperation in helping the victims and transporting the bodies.
