The Nation 360 degrees team today is heading to Prachua Khiri Khan, known as the city of 3 bays – Manao Bay, Prachuab Bay and Noi Bay.
This province also is the gate to the southern part of Thailand. Due to its long and narrow landscape, Prachuap Khiri Khan has the country’s longest coastline.
This long, narrow province features some spectacular coastline destinations along the Gulf of Thailand, including Hua Hin, the country’s oldest resort town, which is located just north of the provincial capital.
Although the rest of the province beyond Hua Hin is not a major tourist attraction, it is certainly rich in natural resources, including mountainous areas, islands, and relaxing beaches. But NO we are not staying in Hua Hin, In this Nation 360 degrees episode, we pick Thap Sakae, a district in the province an hour and a half drive from Hua Hin.
Our destination is Laemkum Beach, where we are also going to stay at Rocky Point resort, if you are looking for privacy and want an escape from the busy city life. The 10-hectare resort area, with 18 rooms to choose from, is the answer to your quest for the quiet. I mean, just look around here. Open your room door, and In just a few steps you’re already on the beach!
Let’s take a deep breath of fresh air and close our eyes…… Can you hear the sound of waves like I do? Perfect!
Now open your eyes… Can you see the sun rays on the waves?
If the tide is too high, you can opt to swim in a salt water pool. But if you are not a watersports person, why not try to ride and explore the area around on a bicycle arranged by the resort. You can come back and enjoy a private barbeque dinner on the beach.
Oh, I forgot to mention, this place is also pet friendly. It has a well-separated pet and non-pet zone. So feel free to bring your pet along, But please remember our 4 legged companion must not be over over 15 kg!
When the night falls, Rocky Point offers a unique and special view of our Milky Way galaxy. Tonight, I am quite lucky that the sky is so dark so I can indulge in a pool of darkness surrounded by millions of stars, embraced by the wind and the sound of waves.
My team has been awake since 3am, to get a glimpse of the Milky Way before chasing the first light of the day.
So, if you are a shutterbug and like stargazing, don’t miss out!
Lamkum Beach is no doubt a perfect spot for a short and long staycation… but if you see your future in a beachfront home, there are many units on sale here. New housing projects are mushrooming, waiting for the right owners to plant their happiness seeds here.
In the next episode, I will take you to see the lifestyles of the local people and visit local landmarks in Thap Sake. So stay tuned!
