NIA, South Korean tourism agency sign MoU on travel tech startup development

Thailand’s National Innovation Agency has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s tourism organisation to support development of travel tech innovations and to support travel tech startups.

The NIA announced that its MoU with the Korea Tourism Organisation was signed in Seoul last week.

Kim Dong-il, KTO executive vice-president, and Krithpaka Boonfueng, NIA executive director, signed the MoU at the Korea Tourism Organization Seoul Center.

The NIA said the MoU set the cooperation framework as:

- To develop an online network for tourism operators, and private and public organisation as an ecosystem for travel tech startups.

- To promote the growth and investment of travel tech businesses by linking travel tech startups to network of investors and partnership agencies.

- To exchange knowledge related to development of travel tech startup’s ecosystem development.

- Jointly to promote projects and activities related to travel tech innovation developments.

As part of the MoU signing, Krithpaka and Krissana Saeheng, investment envoy at the Thai Embassy in Seoul, visited the KTO’s HiKR building, which is used for South Korean tourism exhibitions and Korean soft power such as K-pop.
