Tourists at Krabi’s Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park were warned to beware of big waves if they want to visit adjacent islands from Sunday to Monday.

Yutthapong Damsrisuk, chief of the marine park, said a low-pressure ridge from China and the Northeast monsoon would create 2- to 3-metre-high waves in the Gulf of Thailand.

He said the operators of tourist boats should ensure their vessels are fully equipped with safety gear and all passengers must wear a life jacket all the time. Marine Park in Krabi warns tourists of rough seas, big waves
