Yutthapong Damsrisuk, chief of the marine park, said a low-pressure ridge from China and the Northeast monsoon would create 2- to 3-metre-high waves in the Gulf of Thailand.
He said the operators of tourist boats should ensure their vessels are fully equipped with safety gear and all passengers must wear a life jacket all the time.
The 389.96 square kilometre marine park covers four subdistricts of Krabi’s Muang district, namely Nong Thalay, Sai Thai, Ao Nang and Pak Nam.
