If the team wins through to the third round of qualifying, an additional 10 million baht will be awarded.
Nuanphan, aka Madam Pang, announced the bonuses as Thailand prepares to face China in their opening game of 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification tonight at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium, kick-off at 7.30 pm.
Thailand will play Singapore in the second round of qualifying on November 21 (Tuesday).
Thailand coach Mano Polking told Wednesday’s press conference that preparations for the match had gone well, with almost a full squad coming together for effective training.
“Playing in front of the fans will help us deliver a good performance," he said.
Three players are not available for selection, reducing the squad to 23. Suphanan Burirat, Channarong Promsrikaew, and Suphan Thongsong were the trio left out.
Asked about Thailand squad members who play for overseas clubs, Polking commented: "We are pleased to see more of our players venturing to play internationally. It's a positive development for our team and a good thing for Thailand.”
Team manager Nuanphan said the atmosphere and spirit in the team right now are excellent, adding that each member knows their duties and responsibilities.
Everyone wants to play and prove themselves at an important event like World Cup qualification, she said.
“All the players are committed and dedicated to playing for their country.
But to boost morale and give back to everyone who has made sacrifices, I would like to offer 1 million baht for each point in these first two games. I hope to pay out 6 million baht because I want the full six points, with another 10 million baht if we make it to round 3.
Nuanphan also called on Thai fans to get behind the team.
“Above of all, there is nothing more important than the cheering power and spirit of the ‘12th player’. We hope that many fans will turn out to encourage us.”.
Tonight’s match will be broadcast live on the Thairath TV channel.
