Last Friday (November 3), a video of students crying in the school’s playground was recorded and posted online. The students had apparently been misled by a Facebook user who promised to make a donation to the school, which is located in a remote area of this northern province, as well as bring KFC fried chicken to the students on November 2.
A teacher said that upon hearing the good news, the students were excited and even prepared a musical show to thank the donor.
However, the mysterious benefactor did not show up the following day as promised.
Upon seeing the video, business owners in Nan pooled their money to buy the meals and desserts for the children and had them delivered on Tuesday. They also set up a fund for a school lunch project to ensure that children are properly fed.
The school director reportedly filed a complaint with Pua police station, and the police promised to identify the Facebook user and determine his or her true intention.
