The money raised by the 56th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar – at Siam Paragon from February 25 to 28 – will be donated to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and charitable health nonprofits to help the less fortunate access services, said Khan Prachuabmoh, director of the fundraising at the Thai Red Cross.
The shop-and-share event was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Shoppers were tempted by a wide range of inexpensive products from across the globe, including food, consumer goods, clothing, accessories, and home décor.
Shoppers could choose from everything from Mongolian leather attire to Brazilian coffee beans, organisers said.
Popular food and beverages included Norwegian salmon, cheese and Brazilian coffee, they said, adding that skincare products from Bulgaria, shower gels and lotions from Spain, argan oil from Morocco, glassware from the Czech Republic, and local Thai products sold quickly.
The bazaar has one more event: Its raffle. The winners of its lottery will be announced on March 21 on its Facebook page.
