Koh Pha-ngan in Thailand's south is the most affordable island destination, according to research conducted for TripAdvisor's TripIndex Island Sun 2013.

The study counts the costs for two people of a one-night stay in a four-star hotel, a two-course meal with coconut juice, beers, massage as well as rental of bicycles and snorkel equipment. On Koh Pha-ngan, that adds up to Bt7,322.50, making the small island the most affordable. Koh Tao, which is also in Thailand, comes second, while Gili Trawangan in Indonesia is in third place.
