Axis Communications has launched the indoor AXIS Q1614 and the outdoor-ready AXIS Q1614-E cameras, which are capable of capturing quick movements recording at twice the usual frame rate.

According to Axis’ press release, the AXIS Q1614/-E camera combines two technologies – Lightfinder and the Wide Dynamic Range – to handle complex scenes with high contrasts and extreme low-light conditions.
The blending of the two technologies allows for identification of people and objects no matter if they are in a very bright or very dark zone of the monitored area. The new IP cameras are ideal for traffic monitoring, city surveillance and industrial applications, Axis affirmed.
AXIS Q1614/-E is also Axis’ first camera with adjustable high-sensitive shock detection, a function which enables the camera to automatically send an alarm to a control room if it is hit. This feature is especially valuable in areas subject to vandalism.
The new cameras will be available in Q4 2013 for USD1,099 and USD1,399 respectively.
