The incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday in Bangkok’s Suan Luang district, where police were conducting routine checks for drunk driving. The woman’s blood alcohol level clocked in at a staggering 104 milligrams per litre of blood, well beyond the legal limit of 50 milligrams.
This prompted officers to move in to arrest her and chaos ensued.
The Thai woman, found later to be a top executive at a global data collection company, reportedly put up a spirited resistance, hurling verbal abuses at the officers and even resorting to physical violence.
In a moment that shocked onlookers, she delivered a swift kick to a police lieutenant as he tried to guide her to the waiting police vehicle. Her kick was so high, that her foot hit the officer in the face. Despite her efforts to land more kicks at the officers, she was quickly subdued and arrested.
Initial investigation shows that this was not her first brush with the police for driving under the influence. She had previously faced similar charges in 2022.
While admitting to driving under the influence, the woman vehemently denies charges of resisting arrest. However, authorities remain steadfast in their pursuit of justice, gathering evidence to bolster their case against her. The saga continues as the public eagerly awaits the outcome of this alcohol-fuelled misadventure.
