MONDAY, APRIL 22, 2024

Thansettakij has cemented its standing as Thailand's leading outlet for business news and economic analysis by launching a Climate Centre and Health and Wellness Destination.

Baakbun Boonlert, chairman of Thansettakij Multimedia’s board of directors, said the new move caps 44 years of top-quality economics coverage in the kingdom.

Over the past year, the company has adjusted strategies to align with global trends, delving into areas such as technology with ThanTech and exploring the world of cryptocurrency investment. It has also embraced various formats, including seminars and dinner talks, to address hot issues and boost awareness and adaptability among business stakeholders.

“We have transitioned from traditional to online platforms over the past eight years, leveraging our offline strength to reach over 2 million users on our website and social media platforms. We aim to provide timely insights and relevant content that empower Thai businesses,” Baakbun said.

This year, Thansettakij will split its content strategy into 60% for news coverage and 40% for analysis, driving up analytical content across all channels.

Adapting to global trends

Operating under the Nation Group, Thansettakij focuses on covering economic matters with diverse content to suit a wide range of readers. This strategy mirrors Nation Group’s coverage for the global context, including new and ongoing initiatives in Thailand to meet the country’s sustainability and Net Zero goals.

Communication on this matter is therefore crucial, not only at the corporate level but also for the general public to gain understanding and awareness of what is happening.

At the same time, Covid-19 has triggered a momentous global shift in people's behaviour. People are increasingly focused on their health and taking preventive measures to protect it. Alongside this is the move towards a “super-aged society” over the next decade in Thailand. Thansettakij has its finger on the pulse of this transformation, ready to provide trustworthy and insightful news and information amid these changes.

Health & wellness info from trustworthy sources

Moreover, Thansettakij is embracing content focused on health and wellness, dubbed a mega-trend among global citizens. This awakening began in 2019 when the world's elderly population surpassed 7.7 billion, with projections of 8.5 billion by 2030. Coupled with the emergence of new diseases like Covid-19, the world has undergone unprecedented changes across all dimensions. This has prompted individuals to prioritise healthcare and prevention like never before. To address this shift, Thansettakij is offering content under the name “Health & Wellness Destination".

This new focus seeks to address the full range of health-related concerns with information that promotes well-being for people of all ages. It is crucial to provide trustworthy and accurate information that promotes good health.

This initiative also aims at community engagement to promote knowledge exchange and understanding.
To meet these challenges, Thansettakij has restructured its organisation by blending the experience of seasoned experts with the insights of new-generation team members. The result is business growth built on a deep understanding of the behaviours of new-gen consumers and a commitment to serving all groups.

The editor-in-chief is Tikamporn Srichan, with over three decades of experience in economic analysis, commercial banking, and investment.

Wichuda Jitjan, as news editor, brings nearly 30 years of experience in finance and treasury news.

Together, they will drive Thansettakij towards its goals in 2024.

The Climate Centre will focus on environmental change and efforts to achieve Net Zero. The aim is to encourage everyone to "awaken, adapt, and change for a sustainable world".

Boosting that mission is the MOU Thansettakij signed with the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in mid-March.

"The signing of this MOU represents a new dimension in mass media initiatives by collaborating with governmental agencies directly responsible for driving climate change policies. Together, we will promote and support the National Adaptation Plan and work on communicating knowledge and climate action plans to the general public. This partnership aims to help Thailand achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero emissions by 2065," Baakbun said.
