The platform called Khon Tham Ngarn (working people) is part of the department’s website and puts freelancers and potential employers together without them having to pay a job-placement fee.
The platform covers jobs in the following categories:
• Graphics and design
• Marketing and advertising
• Typing, writing and translating
• Visuals and audio
• Internet and programming
• Advice and consultancy
• Other services
• Cooking or handicraft
• Mobile technicians
• Teaching
The department said this platform is safe because both workers and employers will have to register and verify their identity through a so-called “single sign-on”.
Freelancers are invited to register by filling in an online form. They can further boost their credibility by personally going to the nearest DOE office to verify their identity.
Jobseekers are advised to promote their skills and publish their educational background. They can also select the category they want a job in, specify details, prices and upload images of their products or portfolios.
If their post is approved by the platform’s administration, it will be published in two days.
Those who want to hire freelancers are also required to register. If they have identified the freelancer they want to hire, they can contact them through the platform’s chat service and ask for a bid for the service before officially hiring them.
