Crown Prince proclaimed as King Rama X

THE PROCLAMATION ceremony began at 7.16pm Thursday when His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn granted audience to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, National Legislative Assembly (NLA) president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, Supreme Court president Veerapol Tungsuwan and Regent pro tempore Prem Tinsulanonda.

At the audience held at the Ambhorn Sathan Villa in Dusit Palace, Pornpetch officially asked the Crown Prince to ascend the Throne and become the 10th King of the 234-year-old Chakri dynasty. 
The Crown Prince accepted the invitation and then paid respects to portraits of Their Majesties the King and Queen, before sitting down as His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.
The new King then addressed his audience briefly before ending the ceremony.
