The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, has upgraded Covid-19 control to the highest level, including cancellation of surgery, lowering daily OPD patient limit by 50 per cent, preparing a cohort ward, and prohibiting entry to visitors, after three doctors tested positive for Covid-19.

Two of the doctors were trained as specialists in surgery and one had graduated as Doctor of Medicine and had come to work on a scholarship at the hospital.

The first doctor to test positive on April 2 had a history of eating and shopping at department stores, working in the Department of Surgery, meeting with fellow doctors and staff as well as some patients.

The infected doctors also had attended V-Violette Wautier's concert. The singer's page, violettewautier, stated that on April 3 a patient infected with Covid-19 had attended a concert at Magenta shop in Khon Kaen on March 26, 2021. V-Violette Wautier and the band staff will be quarantined for 14 days and will be tested again on April 10.
