Two killed in deep South blasts
A soldier and an officer who were providing security to teachers in the deep South were killed in two separate bomb blasts this morning (August 13).
One incident took place at 8am at the entrance of Pakaluesong village, Pattani’s Nong Chik district, immediately killing the 23-year-old soldier as shrapnel hit his neck, right eye, left hand and left hip.
The blast was believed to be the work of Southern insurgents, who usually target local officers.
The other blast, which occurred at around 8.50am in Galiza village, Ra-Ngae district, Narathiwat, killed a security officer and injured three.
