Defiant protesters rally outside police station for arrested activist

They were supported by Pheu Thai Party members.
Anon was arrested at 2pm on Friday for allegedly instigating political disturbance. He announced his incarceration by posting, “I have been arrested” on social media.
He is one of five anti-government protesters slapped with charges of violating the emergency decree by holding an assembly of more than five persons during a protest outside the Army headquarters on July 20.
On August 3, Arnon also delivered a public speech on the role of the monarchy, saying it should be debated openly in order to avoid the risk of future violence between opposing political camps.
Parit Chiwarak assembled with other protesters before the police station at around 7pm. During his speech, police handed a document to him, informing him that the assembly should end at 8pm. Arnon already faces a hearing in the criminal court.
Parit tore the police document, saying that to assemble was a basic right of citizens and officials could not specify when it should end.
Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, Pheu Thai Party’s chief strategist, together with her party MPs, visited the police station last night.
According to her social media post, Sudarat explained that she and others were there to take care of the protesters’ safety, and demanded that the prime minister stop intimidating people.
She added that she did not want this incident to stir further violence in the future.
