Lam Luk Ka police were alerted to the fire at the factory named Technology Fiber Glass and rushed to the scene. They immediately called in more than 20 fire trucks to the facility, located on a three-rai plot. Smoke emanating from the factory could be seen from a distance.
The factory produced fiberglass products such as plastic tanks and chairs. The presence of fuels in the manufacturing process contributed to the flames raging out of control.
Firefighters took around two hours to control the blaze.
Factory worker Teerapong Srisopha, 20, suffered burns to his face and left hand. A pickup truck was burned as well.
Teerapong said that Tuesday was a holiday, but 15 employees were working overtime. It was during noon break that they heard two loud booms and saw a fire spread rapidly.
They gave up trying to put out the fire and decided to escape, then frantically called the police.
The police said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
