More than 200 bags of plasma, which has high virus immunity and can be stored for up to a year, were donated by 300 people.
Those with symptoms such as pneumonia normally have high immunity, while people with few Covid-19 symptoms can have a lower immunity. "This is a very interesting subject and there is a need for studies on the issue," the virologist said.
“We have plans to conduct a long-term study, monitoring immunity up to one year to find out how long it remains and what amount of plasma dose is needed to cure patients,” said Dr Yong.
Thanking the plasma donors again, he added that Covid-19 is a new disease that needs long-term study.
