Following the spectacular success of the Thai horror-comedy film, “Undertaker”, its director on Wednesday announced a new TV series to be streamed on the online channel, WeTV.

“Undertaker” director Thiti “Tongte” Srinual posted on his Facebook wall on Wednesday that he would like to thank his movie fans. The movie, the sixth instalment in the “Tai Baan: The Series” film series, was approaching the 750-million-baht revenue mark, the highest grossing Thai movie ever.

To mark the success, Thiti announced the launch of a new series called “Tai Baan Kuek Kuk, Mon Rak Or Bor Tor”, the love story of funny Isaan people related to a tambon administrative organisation.

He said the series was a cooperation between his Thaibaan Studio and WeTV and it was being labelled as a WeTV original series. As ‘Undertaker’ nears THB750m revenue, director launches new TV series

In the northeastern dialect, “Tai Baan” refers to the people of the Northeastern region, known as Isaan.

Thiti said the new series was being added to the “Tai Baan Universe”, which encompasses several films and music videos.

The new series recounts the story of a music teacher, who wants to win the acceptance of his father-in-law. So he has to lay down his guitar temporarily to form a football team of his village with the goal of winning a football tournament in his tambon, although his team was very weak.
