‘Yaya’ to play heroine in Hollywood film adapted from popular Thai video game

Renowned Thai actress Urassaya "Yaya" Sperbund will play the female lead in "Home Sweet Home Rebirth", a Hollywood film adapted from a popular Thai video game.

The supernatural thriller costars Michele Morrone and William Moseley.

Morrone is an Italian actor who played the lead role in a 2020 Polish erotic thriller "365 Days". Moseley is an English actor who is known for playing Peter Pevensie in the film series “The Chronicles of Narnia”.

The cast also includes Alexander Lee from the South Korean boy band U-KISS.

Renowned Hollywood film director Dean Altit said that apart from casting superstars, a large sum of money had been invested for the filming and special effects to ensure that it would be a blockbuster.

He said the filming of “Home Sweet Home Rebirth” would begin soon in Thailand, with the film expected to be screened across the globe next year.

Helmed by two German directors — Alexander Kiesl and Steffen Hacker — the film follows the story of James, a policeman who is thrust into an alternate realm after he attempts to stop a local mall shooter. With the help of a mysterious figure, he races the clock to find and stop an evil occultist from opening the gates of hell.

Home Sweet Home”, developed by Thai-based Yggdrazil Group, has sold over 1 million copies worldwide and has garnered over 370 million views across various streamers on YouTube and Twitch.
