To safeguard the environment during Loy Krathong, we kindly request the community's collaboration:
Choose Eco-friendly Materials: Craft your Krathong using natural or easily biodegradable materials, such as banana leaves.
Avoid Hazardous Items: Refrain from lighting, releasing, or selling sky lanterns, fireballs, lanterns, smoke lamps, firecrackers, or fireworks.
Strict Prohibition Inside Parks: The sale of Krathong, merchandise, food, and alcoholic beverages within the park premises is strictly prohibited. Violators will face legal consequences.
In 2022, Bangkok collected a total of 572,602 Krathongs, marking a notable increase of 169,367 Krathongs (42%) compared to 2021:
548,086 Krathongs were crafted from natural materials, constituting 95.7% of the total.
24,516 were foam krathongs, representing 4.3%.
While the use of biodegradable materials slightly decreased from 96.5% to 95.7%, there was a corresponding increase in foam krathongs from 3.5% to 4.3%.
