Aiming to make art accessible to all, the Expansive MunMun Art Destination (MMAD) is the latest contribution to the flourishing art scene and its increased attention.

Recent times have seen the emergence of numerous exhibitions and galleries in Bangkok, and now the city’s east.

MMAD is located in the MUNx2 zone, occupying a 10,000-square-metre space on the second and third floors of Seacon Square on Sri Nakarin Rd.

It is designed as an exhibition space with galleries and multiple rooms for artists to showcase their work and express creative ideas while providing easy access for art enthusiasts.

The zone has evolved into a community, reflecting the genuine passion for art among the people of Bangkok.

In the past, the MUNx2 zone hosted a variety of entertaining activities, including frequent art events.

Now, it has been creatively transformed into a central hub for the arts in the eastern part of Bangkok, brimming with vitality and packed with experiences that bring art closer to the daily lives of people, especially those on the eastern side and nearby provinces.

This transformation aims to drive forward the Thai art scene, fostering a closer connection between art and the daily lives of people in the area.

MMAD is dedicated to curating a diverse range of art experiences, including exhibitions, art markets, and various art-related activities — catering to every taste and preference.

During its recent launch, numerous exhibitions were featured from 10 art partners, including HOP Hub Of Photography, GroundControl, BACC (Bangkok Art and Culture Center), PPPStudio, happening mag, Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC), School of Architecture, Art, and Design at KMITL, Eyedropper Fill, and The Rainbow Room - A Neurodiversity Awareness Centre.

Each partner brings a unique perspective, style, and narrative to the art scene.
The duration of each exhibition varies, with some extending into the next year, providing a prolonged engagement with the diverse and distinctive art offerings.

This creative space welcomes people of all genders and ages, supporting both established and emerging artists, along with art enthusiasts. It encourages active participation in diverse art activities to contribute to the growth of the Thai art scene.

The space is open every day from 11 am to 8 pm.

Below are the exhibitions that are now organized at MMAD:

- VIBE-BRATION (until December 8, 2023) is an art event by PPP Studio featuring works from 27 artists in various forms and perspectives to create an artistic shockwave through VIBE VILLAGE.

The exhibition includes VIBERUNS, showcasing the works of emerging artists, and VIBESANG, an art medium on lightboxes.

- Re-look (until January 22, 2024) is an exhibition that spans from traditional painting and sculpture to printmaking and installation art, showcasing the works of artists featured in the People’s Gallery, a special project of BACC POP UP by the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

The aim is to foster an understanding of the intricate diversity present within the urban space.

- Language of The Soul" (until January 29, 2024), a personal exploration without boundaries by the individuals of The Rainbow Room Foundation, aimed at supporting the free and diverse creative expressions of artists with various learning styles.

- Sonic Seasoning (until December 3, 2023), from TCDC COMMONS Creative Food and Hear & Found, whose experts in sound present a melodic exploration of Thai street food in the Sri Nakarin area. Through small-scale events and exhibitions, they aim to stimulate the appetite and create a sensory experience that goes beyond taste.

- Childhood: A Solo Exhibition by Shared Toy (until January 7, 2024), challenges viewers to embark on a journey back to experience the world through the eyes of children.

The exhibition invites both the artist and the audience to play and engage in a dialogue to explore paths that lead to preserving the perspectives of youth. It encourages sharing stories of imperfection freely.

- PIRA OGAWA: MY LIFE WORKS (until January 7, 2024) explores the lifelong works of Pira Ogawa, a senior artist, reflecting happiness, fun, and diverse perspectives.

The exhibition showcases his thoughts, experiences, experiments, presentations of possibilities, and the journey through challenges at each stage of life. Created by BKKIF, happening, and curated by December.

- Homecoming Mini (until February 4, 2024), in which Eye Dropper Fill provides a learning space and cultivates mental resilience in a concise form. Utilising the principles of design and art, the exhibition allows people to discover themselves in new ways, aiming to “bring the heart back home” and extend love to oneself.

- Chronicles of Colors (until January 22, 2024) in which Palette Artspace invites you to admire the paintings of Vasan Sitthiket, Sitthidham Rohitasuk, and Warawut Intorn, featuring vibrant colours that express emotions vividly and bring life to the canvas. Each artwork is like a chapter in the life story of these artists.
