The 19-year-old runner who just celebrated his first victory in the 800m event on Tuesday broke the old mark of 5:34.7 minutes set by Solo of Indonesia in the 6th Games in Indonesia six years ago.
The Kingdom’s Para athletic team also won two more gold medals from Lamsan Songwut in the men’s 100m T12 and from Pongsakorn Paeyao in the men’s 100m T42/43/44 categories.
In swimming, visually impaired Panom Lagsanaprim touched the pool first to defend his gold medal in the men’s 100m breaststroke SB11, timing 1:24.06 minutes.
“I’m happy to win this gold medal again. I would like to thank the fans for their support. We Para athletes gave our best in this Games, no compromise,” said the 48-year-old Panom.
Thongsa Marasri
In powerlifting, Thailand won two events from Thongsa Marasri in the men’s snatch up to 72kg and Kampa Pongtao in the men’s snatch up to 80kg.
Thai archers yielded two golds for the Kingdom. Hanreuchai Netsiri won the men’s individual recurve open and Wasana Khuthawisap in the women’s individual recurve open.
In Boccia, Thailand won three golds in the mixed pairs BC3, mixed pairs BC4 and mixed team BC1/BC2 events.
