Dressed to the nines

Chic Parisian label Maje’s autumn/winter 2017 collection plays with fashion and its influences, overlaying eras and genres through cool and eclectic combinations.

Romantic dresses and flowing ruffle tops contrast with the punk touch of a cropped jacket and leather mini dress. Subtle tartans or checks are featured on oversized trousers and suits. The masculine/feminine undertones play with the sensuality of lace.

During the day, British spirit meets sport-chic. The Maje girl can look comfortable in a ‘60s knitted dress that works with any situation or in a patterned cardigan paired with a slightly too short A-line skirt. In a contemporary vintage way, the brand’s iconic pieces travel through time, reworking the check swing coat and the bomber jacket. Edgy combinations of prints and fabrics are also revealed through a coat that is belted like a trench, while chunky knitwear loosens up and flower prints make an appearance on both daytime and evening dresses.

At night, an assertive seductress emerges. Strong contrasted colours, tuille, Swiss dot and transparencies are awakened in daring ’80s looks. The M, the brand’s signature bag and its big brother the M Walk, are moving from fringes to chains, ruffles and eyelets.

Interplays of fabrics create a punk and romantic image: with velvet, shearling, faux-fur, mixes of exotic skins and leather or leopard print, the brand’s key accessory becomes a new player.

Maje is available at Central Embassy, Central Chidlom and Zen.
