Actress Sasikan “Ae” Apichartworasilp and her husband, United Nations official Dominic Leong, got a head start on New Year’s Eve when they welcomed Ronin, their first-born son, after two years of marriage and several wayward attempts at pregnancy.
Meanwhile Instagram and other social networks are brightening with photos of “baby bumps”.
Acting couple Pornchita “Benz” Na Songkhla and Baromvudh Hiranyattiti declared their thrilled expectancy with a sonogram image for all to share. They dated for nine years, have been married for two and have been trying for quite a while to have a baby. It took a work trip to Japan late last year to produce results, so they obviously mixed a little pleasure in with their business.
Dedicated efforts have similarly paid off for actress Alisha “Ann” Laisatrooklai and her guy, Puri Hiranyapruk, who waited a full 13 weeks before posting the news online that she’s pregnant. The little one’s due in July, just in time for Puri to join the Father’s Day honours club.
The most recent baby news comes from newlyweds Sarunrat “Lydia” Visutthithada and Matthew Deane, who will also be in the delivery room in July. Matthew posted an alert – “Coming soon July 2016 #12weeks” – and the mum-to-be added the comment “New Year! New Life! New Chapter!” We don’t know yet if this one’s a boy or a girl, but we can safely predict that it’s going to be one beautiful baby.
Congratulations and well done, everyone!
Chins are wagging
The role and responsibility of modern-day media were once again questioned after Channel 3 news-talk program “Rueng Lao Chao Nee” decided last Saturday to ignore a gazillion genuinely important, genuinely newsworthy stories to present instead a daft prediction concerning the future of Nong Mali.
She’s the young, dancing daughter of actor Trisadee “Por” Sahawong, who remains in hospital battling complications arising from a bout of dengue fever.
Fortune-teller Phoo Lok Biew, formerly known as comedian Yuwadee Ruangchai, visited Por at the hospital and did an astrological reading for Nong Mali. Based on the kid’s date of birth, he said, she’ll enjoy a prosperous life and share that prosperity with her family and all who surround her.
However, Phoo saw in a bump on her chin the likelihood that she’ll grow up to be a tomboy. He offered irrefutable proof: Former actresses Monrudee Yamapai and Lalana Kongthoranin have that same “little bump on the chin” and, are, after all, known to be “a bit masculine”. So there you go!
It was another WTF moment for Por’s fans, who wish only for daily updates (and pray for good news), yet have often ended up appalled at the media shenanigans. Phoo’s stupid supernatural turn might have merely floated into the social media’s stream of nonsense and out the other end, but then “Rueng Lao Chao Nee”, until now a respected show, chose to report this “news” at length. Host Sorayuth Suthassanachinda devoted an immense amount of airtime to analysing the revelation.
“Tactless,” Assistant Professor Warat Karuchit declared on Facebook. The assistant to the president for corporate communications at the National Institute of Development Administration was among the first to assail the news show. Many others sided with him, and so do we. Just leave the kid’s chin alone!
