A 7-INCH TABLET computer that supports 4G LTE connection, boasts a beautiful display and has good performance, Acer Iconia Talk S comes with dual microSIM slots and an easy-to-use SIM management utility meaning that you can set one SIM for making voice calls and another for data connection.
Talk S is powered by Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 quad-core processor running at 1.2 GHz. The processor has built-in Adreno 306 GPU for processing video and 3D graphic games, 1 gigabyte of working memory or RAM and internal storage of 16GB. A micro-SD slot |on the left allows for up to 128GB |of additional memory. The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
Talk S has a beautiful HD IPS display with 1280 x 720-pixels resolution. It’s also pleasingly thin thanks to Zero |Air Gap technology |that minimises the distance between the display and the touch module. Another plus is that |the shiny glass has anti-fingerprint coating so you don’t need to spend all your time trying to clean the screen.
There’s a narrow display bezel of 5.9mm on each side so the tablet has good screen-to-body ration and provides a great viewing experience.
The tablet’s main camera has |5-megapixel resolution and its front camera has two-megapixel resolution.
Thanks to the Qualcomm processor, Talk S has good performance. The touch screen and menus were responsive and games and video files ran smoothly during the test.
I tested it on TrueMove H’s LTE 4G connection, whose coverage |has now expanded to Bang Na.
Downloading and installing applications was very fast on the |4G network as was checking mails.
I measured the connection speed using Ookla speed test to measure the speed of 4G connection on the Talk S and the results were good. However, speed is affected by the servers used by the app for hosting files to download or upload.
During the test, I found that the Talk S achieved a download speed of 32.53 Megabit per second and upload speed of 19.96 Mbps.
Acer Iconia Talk S has a suggested retail price of Bt7,990.
